Waikato Islamic School of Education (WISE)

Waikato Islamic School of Education’s aim is to provide part-time Islamic education programmes for the Muslim community in Hamilton.

Key Objectives:

  • To educate Muslim school-age children about the religion of Islam based on the Qur’aan and the authentic Hadeeth.
  • To socialize Muslim children Islamically by providing them the opportunity to learn in an environment with other Muslim children.
  • To provide a range of educational activities for Muslim children to keep them away from other competing influences.
  • To provide opportunities for Muslim youth and adults to study Arabic, Qur’aan and Islamic studies.

Waikato Islamic School of Education (WISE) was founded by Waikato Muslim Association (WMA) and opened in March 2014. Construction of the school building was partially funded by a generous grant from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in Saudi Arabia.

The school currently has around a hundred students enrolled.
